I turned on the radio and listened to Loveline Radio just outta boredom last night.
I’m not going to sit here and say, “this filth does not belong on the air”, etc, etc.
My question first of all, how much does the guy having to censor the broadcast for profanities make? Canadian radio tends to pay little more than minimum wage so I hope that guy/girl get’s a lot of cash. I’m sure they’ve been forced to take a long 2-minute call and edit it down to “I think I have an STD”.
In Canada, swearing does not get you fined by the CRTC or Industry Canada. It’s just, frowned upon, per-se. Stateside, not so much. Surely y’all remember how much steam the right blew when Janet Jackson’s nipple appeared?
Also, I have a friend that refuses to listen to the show for even a minute. So I wonder how many people can listen for the whole two hours. I’m pretty squeamish myself, I only got through 20 minutes (the last 20 minutes mind you).
Other than that, it almost seems as if the show makes a good public service.
Loveline Radio, anybody get through an episode?
