For the most part, you have cable/satellite providers touting their corporate line with the broadcasters touting their corporate line.
This week, the CRTC invited ordinary Canadians with the opportunity to appear in front of the commission.
I was invited but I didn’t really feel like dragging myself out to Edmonton to appear via video link.
But others did and for the most part, it seems as though they were cautious about giving the broadcasters no money. There really is no accountability that the broadcasters will it on local news instead of buying more American programming.
I think we’ll be in the same stalemate for several years to come until someone goes bankrupt or the economy really improves.
