Fuck. Okay, just calm down…
One thing that surprised me was Avatar being nominated. I figured it would go the route of Spider-Man and get nom’s for technical reasons. I’m surprised it got Best Picture, Drama. But alas, I am talking about the Oscar’s and their slate of technical awards. The rest seem in place, Up in the Air, Inglorious Basterds (great film!).
Best Picture for Comedy is also interesting to see. The Hangover got nominated, just great, I can’t wait to grab that on DVD later. I think that The Fantastic Mr. Fox deserves to be up there though.
One thing to note, Meryl Streep was nominated TWICE for Best Actress in a Comedy. So if you want to bet on this, place your bets on someone else other than Meryl Streep. I just have a feeling.
Moving to television, three of my favourites were nominated for Best TV Series, Comedy. Entourage, The Office and 30 Rock. Also nominated was Modern Family and Glee. I say Glee get’s it.
And yeah, I’ll post more thoughts once I get over my anger of missing the live nominations. There’s always next year…
