Toronto is a pretty cool place

August 14th, 2009 · Comments

As I posted last week, I was on a little vacation between my mega work week at work and I took the opportunity to take a weekend trip to the other end of the country.  In my travels, I discovered that Toronto is really a cool place.  Naturally, there are many Toronto haters so I’ve compiled a list of places I hit up and why they redeem Toronto:

Pizza Pizza – nuff said.

Lively streetlife – it’s very alive even on the streets that aren’t considered “17th Avenue” (that would be Queen Street West which I would call 17th on steroids).

Honest Ed’s – so tacky it’s awesome.  Shame I never went in.

Queen Mary Cafe – it’s got a really kick ass charm.  Good food too.

Kensington Market – some great vintage shops, grocery stores, it’s kinda like what Kensington here in Calgary is trying to be…but it seems more natural over in T.O.

Gladstone Hotel – karaoke!  Along with general boozing.   Now once I remember in detail what I did that night and why I think I broke something in my foot, I’ll get everyone in on the goods of this place.
