High-Pressure Sales People…

July 27th, 2009 · Comments

As apart of my personal goal of bringing us out of this “recession”, it’d be nicer if the sales clerks and possibly their bosses would just be a little more un-pushy, just a little more understanding and give a little more space.

Take for example, earlier today.  I was purchasing a shirt and the sales lady “helped” me by grabbing like three more shirts she thought would look good on me.  Then as I was trying them on, at one point she opens the curtain open and checks on me.  Then she kept making remarks as to how cute I was with my glasses.  The shirt looked good so I purchased it.

Then I was buying some DVD’s at a local retailer here in town and I was thinking of putting one back.  However, this sales clerk happened to be a fan of the director of the film I was putting back and I thought she was going to tell me to put it back but instead she admonished me and really pushed the film.  Finally I relented, it was the one I came in for originally and it’s been on my list of films to see for quite some time.  I found two other items I had also had on my list so I grabbed those while I had a chance.

So the statement is, relax, chill out.  Besides it wasn’t a bad day, the first girl at the store where I bought the shirt was pretty cute.  Shoulda asked her out…
